Cremation is an option that is chosen by many families today.  At Heath Funeral Home we offer a variety of options for those who chose cremation.  First of all we differ from others by providing the same level of professional service to cremation customers as we provide to traditional service customers with an emphasis on making each service individually unique.  Furthermore we ensure that cremations that are performed under our care are carried out by professionals in cremation facilities that meet our high expectations.

There are a number of cremation options that are available to you:

Traditional service followed by cremation.

The deceased is transported to the funeral home from the place of death.  Embalming is preformed by one of our licensed professional embalmers, the deceased is then dressed and the appropriate cosmetics are applied.  The deceased is then placed in a specially designed cremation casket for the visitation and funeral service.  After the service the interior of the casket is removed which serves as the cremation container, and the deceased is then taken to the crematory for cremation.  This option will allow everyone involved the closure provided at a funeral and the wishes of cremation can still be honored.

.

Cremation Viewing Casket

This is the casket used when a traditional service or viewing is desired. After each use the interior of the casket comes out and serves as a cremation container. A new interior is placed inside allowing the casket to be used again; this is a cost effective way to have a viewing when the final disposition will be cremation.

Special wooden cremation caskets are also available for purchase; these caskets allow the deceased to remain in the casket for cremation.

Visitation followed by cremation.

This option is basically the same as the above option without a funeral service.  After the visitation, wake or prayer service the deceased will be cremated.  A memorial service held after the cremation would be an excellent addition to this option.

Direct cremation with a memorial service.

This option includes picking up the deceased from the place of death, all paperwork and office fees, a cremation container and cremation services. At a date of the family’s choice we will arrange and conduct a memorial service to honor the deceased.  This memorial service can be held in our facility, a church, home, park or wherever the imagination may lead (within reason).  We provide items such as an urn to be used for the service, picture boards, memory tables, etc. and we can assist you with music selections.  In many ways a memorial service is just like a funeral with the exception that there is not a body present.

Direct cremation.

This option includes picking up the deceased from the place of death, all paperwork and office fees, a cremation container and cremation services. This option comes with no ceremonies or rites.  After cremation the cremated remains are returned to the next of kin.

After cremation the cremated remains may be buried, placed in a cremation garden or niche, scattered, or kept by the family.
