James M. Maguire
James Michael Maguire, of Cherokee Village,
Arkansas, formerly of Auburn, Main, died September 2, 2009, at St. Bernard’s
Hospice Care Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
He was born November 6, 1941 to Francis and Adelaide (Baril)
Maguire in Lewiston, Main.
He is survived by his wife Nancy (Rizzo) of Cherokee
Village, Arkansas and by his daughter Remy Maguire and her husband Andrew
Morphis of Portland, Oragon. He is also survived by three sisters, Joanne
Reardon and Husband Joe of Augusta, Main, Margaret Maguire and Rachael
Maguire of Auburn, Main and many nieces and nephews and cousins throughout
the state of Main. Surviving also are his father-in-law, Dan Rizzo, & aunt
by marriage, Virginia Skowlund, both of Cherokee Village, Arkansas.
He served in the Air Force as an air traffic
controller from 1960 to 1964. He held private and commercial pilots licenses
and flew for Down East Airlines and Executive Air Lines in the state of
Maine. In 1971 he joined the FAA as an air traffic controller at the Boston
Air Traffic Control Center in Nashua, New Hampshire. He received a Bachelors
Degree from River Collage in 1974. In 1983 he opened, Photo Finish, the
first one hour photo lab in the state of Maine.
Jim enjoyed playing golf and especially working out
daily at the Omaha Center where he had many friends.
Jim and his wife retired in 2004 and moved to Arkansas
to enjoy golf and sunshine.
