Elmer Newburn
Elmer Newburn, age 89, of Cherokee Village, died Friday, December 11, 2009
at White River Medical Center in Batesville. Elmer served in the Army
during World War II and was a part of the disassembly of two concentration
camps. He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Cherokee
Village.
Elmer was the son of the late
Frank Newburn and the late Mary (Tunze) Newburn.
He is survived by his wife
Lillian (Mollenhour) Newburn; Son Elmer Joe Newburn and wife Lorna of
Mountain Home, AR; Grand Daughters Angela Duncan of Highland and Erica Huff
of Naperville, IL; Great Grand Daughters Laura Baldridge, Natlie McCandless,
Michaela Kevan; one Great Grand Son Creston Duncan.
He was preceded in death by
his parents, three Brothers and five Sisters.
Elmer was a generous donor to
the Genesis Program.
A memorial Mass will be
held at a later date. Interment will be in Saint Michael’s Columbarium.
